Amrut Distilleries Limited, the Liquor segment of the prestigious Bangalore-based N.R. Jagdale Group, produces some of the finest Whiskies, Brandies and Rum in India. Amrut Single Malt, the first single malt whisky to be made in India, the award-winning MaQintosh Premium Malt Whisky, MaQ Scotch Whisky and Bejois Napoleon Brandy occupy the pride of place in Amrut Distilleries Limited’s stable of celebrated products. Established way back in 1948, Amrut Distilleries Limited has grown out of its locale in Karnataka to an acknowledged all-India presence. The imminent launch of its Single Malt, christened Amrut Single Malt - ASM for short-in Glasgow marks another milestone in Amrut Distilleries Limited ’s quest for recognition for quality. Painstaking selection of malt and grapes, rigid control over quality of Alcohol, one of the finest maturation facilities in India with carefully controlled ambience, master blenders to whom liquor is more of a love affair than a job – these are the factors that have turned Amrut Distilleries Limited into a producer of quality liquors.

The Mythology

According to Indian Mythology

When Gods and Rakshasas - the demons - churned the oceans using the mountain Meru as churner, a golden pot sprang out containing the Elixir of Life.That was called the "Amrut" The great founders of our distillery aptly named it Amrut Distilleries. AMRUT Single Malt Whisky is a product of many years research to produce whiskies matching world standards. This whisky is made from selected Indian barley grown at the feet of the Himalayas, nurtured by the waters flowing there and cultivated by old and traditional agricultural practices. It is carefully mashed and distilled in small batches to preserve the natural aroma and matured in oak barrels in a unique tropical condition,at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level at Bangalore, the garden city of India.To retain the natural characteristics of this oak aged Indian Malt Whisky, we do not chill filter, some haze may therefore be noticed in the product. Amrut presents this product as a humble tribute to the Indian farmer,who has grown this barley with care and affection with which he has tilled the soil.We hope as a connoisseur of all good things you will appreciate this fine product at your leisure.
