The Vineyard
The Castellani Michele Estate consists of about 40 hectares vineyards situated in the hillside area of the Valpolicella Classica.
An enlightening metaphor of the respect for tradition and the vision for the future is represented by the new vineyard at Masso, in the area of Negrar. A real natural amphitheatre which, with it's sunny south/south-west exposure and its view over the hills from Verona to Lake Garda, seems to be the ideal stage to present the best of the local wine production to the world.
Both the new vineyard and the well renowned vineyards at Ca Del Pipa and Castei, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, present high quality geomorphological and viticultural features, like an ideal exposure, constant ventilation, soils with a well-balanced composition.
These characteristics, combined with selective winter pruning and summer thinning operations aimed at controlling natural growth, as well as the selection of the best harvesting time depending on the grapes phenolic and aromatic maturity, enable us to harvest grapes at the peak of their organolepic potential.

Hard work and enthusiasm laid the foundation of what is now the excellent Michele Castellani winery. Today Sergio, his wife, son and daughters renew this dream every day with passion for their work and an ongoing process of product innovation. Sergio continues the wine business and manages the family-run company through all the wine making stages: Selection and harvest of grapes, vinification, drying, and aging of the great Valpolicella wines, with the aim to obtain wines at the best of their potential. To this end, the utmost care is given to the drying of grapes for the production of Amarone and Recioto. Using traditional as well as modern practices, ensures the quality product represented by the Michele Castellani family vineyard.
